A former aerospace engineer, Jack Huang now reigns as the pioneer in the sophisticated and cosmopolitan night life that now defines Old Town Pasadena. Starting off with the highly successful Wok n’ Roll, the restaurateur now owns some of the most talked about hot spots in Old Town, which include Villa Sorriso, at the western edge of Old Town, the new ixTapa at the eastern edge, and BarCelona right smack dab in the center of everything.
Jack Huang has obviously gotten the job of restaurateur down right. All three of his establishments have booked up tables during dinner, a line-up at the bars, and packed dance floors on the weekend. Each place is consistently filled with the smell of gourmet cuisine and music in the air that is guaranteed to get you on the dance floor.

KINGS ROW GASTROPUB, OLD TOWN PASADENA

Located at 20 E Colorado Boulevard, in Old Town Pasadena, is the new King’s Row Gastropub. Previously in it’s location was Neo Meze, from which the same owners have transformed the former modern, bar/club, into King’s Row. The conversion into the gastropub seems more fitting for the historic space located in the heart of old town. The original brick walls compliment the rustic feel that should be associated with an old world infuenced restaurant and bar.
The menu at Kings Row offers salads, delicate pizzas, sandwiches, as well as a selection of dinner plates, all ranging from $5-$15. It’s a given that a gastropub should have a good selection of beer, and Kings Row does not disappoint. There is a good selection of domestic and non-domestic beer, predominated by their wide selection of local micro brews.
