Madison Heights

MADISON HEIGHTS NEIGHBORHOOD, PASADENA, CA

A vast majority of the Madison Heights neighborhood in Pasadena was developed between 1910 and 1917. Madison Heights was established as a neighborhood of family homes geared towards upper-middle class of working professionals. Many of the architects of the homes in Madison Heights were residents of the neighborhood themselves as they saw it as a lovely location to build their own personal home for which to live.

Having opened in July of 1906, the Madison Heights subdivision originially was comprised of 63 lots and when sold their was a condition that the homes built on the lot exceeded a certain sum of money in the cost of construction. The stipulation led to the building of higher end homes.

Although Madison Heights homes aren’t typically grand estates, they are for the most part larger than the average Pasadena bungalow.
