Glendale
Glendale is a city at the most eastern tip within the San Fernando Valley, lying south of La Canada Flintridge, west of Pasadena, and east of Burbank. Glendale experienced it’s greatest population increase in the 1920’s- 1930’s, therefore there is a large amount of single family residential homes that still exist within the city that were built during that time. Many charming Spanish bungalows and estates built in the late 20’s and early 30’s are located north of the 134 freeway, nestled against the Verdugo Hills in Glendale. There was also an influx of developing in Glendale in the 1980’s, during a time that many centrally located, urban condominium and apartment complexes were built.A notable historic structure is the Brand Library and Arts Center, which is an arts and music library housed in a mansion built in 1904 by Leslie C. Brand. The city of Glendale offers many options for dining and shopping. Adjacent to the Glendale Galleria is The Americana at Brand, a large high end outdoor shopping and residential community that was developed by Rick Caruso, who also designed and built The Grove at the Farmers Market.
